Bushland's History
Bushland real estate has an interesting history. The town itself was created as a train stop in 1908 for the Chicago, Rock Island and Gulf Railroad. The land was donated by William Henry Bush from Chicago for a town-site and railroad. Bush once owned the 250,000 acre Frying Pan Ranch, a well known cattle ranch. Soon, ranchers and farmers came from all around to settle in this new town. Today, Bushland's main industry is still agriculture. But it is also home to the Conservation and Production Research Laboratory, which is a USDA certified agency that was created to research wind erosion on the great plains of the south.

Residents of Bushland real estate are served by the Bushland Independent School District. The district is made up of one elementary school, one middle school and one high school. There are also private schools in and around the area. The Bushland First Baptist Church has been ministering to the community's spiritual needs since 1917.
